Family Ministries

At Covenant CRC, we believe that all children are a precious gift from God. As a church community, we are called to walk alongside each child in support as they grow in love and discipleship to Jesus. All children ages 3 to grade 4 are invited to join us in Children’s Worship. We begin in the sanctuary with parents and caregivers. Children are then invited to participate in worship “kid-style” in the Tree Room with group singing and prayer, Bible stories, crafts, games and music.

We hope to instill in our children, they have a place and a purpose in God’s Kingdom. Throughout the year, we have Special Service Sundays where our kids participate in deliberate acts of kindness, helping and serving the community.

Mission: Cov Littles Nursery Ministry is here to welcome infants and toddlers into a safe, warm, and nurturing environment and to lay the foundation of Christ’s love in each of these young disciples’ lives.

Vision: Our vision is that each child will experience Christ’s love through the care of our Nursery Ministry Teams and parents will have confidence that their children are being cared for by trustworthy caregivers in an environment that is clean, safe, and secure.

Matthew 7:25: “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

We believe that the way in which we love and care for little ones lays a foundation for their faith and trust in God. It is our mission to work as partners with parents in sharing God with the children in our care. Therefore, it is our goal to provide the best possible care in an environment that is safe and loving for the youngest members of our church family. We feel that at this age, children receive ministry by the attention and affection they get from everyone in the room. Love speaks volumes to children – through hugs, gentle correction, intentional diversion, engaging activities, and interaction with children as they play. These are all ways that we communicate (preach) Christ to infants and toddlers. We plant seeds through stories, activities and music, but the best way a child will remember church is by the way they were loved, Jesus style.

Mission: Cov Kids Ministry is here to welcome families and children into God’s love story, inspiring and equipping them through God’s Word and partnering with Christ, as His disciples, to further build His Kingdom.

Vision: Our vision is that each child will KNOW Christ, understand His Word, GROW in their own spiritual walk, and SHOW the love of Christ to others.

Isaiah 61:3: “They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory”

All Cov Kids meet every Sunday in the Tree Room during the service. There we begin worship with songs, remember verse practice and prayer. Following this, preschool children (ages 3-4) leave for their own classroom for their Bible learning. Children in kindergarten to Grade 4 remain in the Tree Room for their Bible learning and related game, craft, or discussion.

Mission: Cov 56 Ministry is here to build community for children in grades 5 and 6, to deepen their faith in God and to discover their own spiritual and leadership gifts to be Jesus’ hands and feet in their community.

Vision: Our vision is that Cov 56 kids will SEE God’s stories in a new light, gain a SENSE of who they are and where they fit in God’s Big Story and SERVE their community using their spiritual gifts.

1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

What is Cov 56? This is a group of kids who are striving to be world changers in their homes, neighbourhoods, and community. They really believe their actions and lives can make a difference. They truly believe that they can set an example not only for those who are younger, but also adults who cross their paths. Know why they believe it? Because God says they can. These are the ways that Cov 56 sets an example for ALL believers. Cov 56 meets approximately twice a month during Sunday worship services with 3-4 fellowship events and service opportunities throughout the year.

I, named below, undertake and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Covenant Kids Ministry Personnel, Covenant Christian Reformed Church, and its Leaders from and against any loss, damage or injury suffered by the participant as a result of being part of the activities of Covenant Christian Reformed Church, as well as of any medical treatment authorized by the supervising individuals representing Covenant Christian Reformed Church. This consent and authorization is effective only when participating in or travelling to events sponsored by Covenant Christian Reformed Church.

I understand that photos and videos are occasionally taken during Covenant Kids activities and that these photos and videos may be displayed on church bulletin boards and/or the private Covenant Family Facebook group.

Purposes and Extent
Covenant Christian Reformed Church is collecting and retaining this personal information for the purpose of enrolling your Child in our programs, to assign the student to the appropriate classrooms, to develop and nurture ongoing relationships with you and your Child, and to inform you of program updates and upcoming opportunities at our church. This information will be maintained indefinitely as it is a requirement of our insurance company and legal counsel.
